Animal Messages deck and book by Susie Green and Csaba Pasztor (artist)

I think I just found the best totem animal deck since Ted Andrews' Animal Wise Tarot. Click the link for details!

Over the weekend I spyed a deck of animal cards at Barnes & Noble.  The first thought that popped into my head is "those may prove helpful!" so I purchased them.

It wasn't until yesterday that I was able to give them a propper look, so I opened them up and looked through the cards.  Then before I went to bed, I wrapped them in a cami that is my favorite color, and placed them under my pillow.  Most of my dreams were about Harry Potter (because I had just finished the last book) but near the end of my sleep cycle I had one dream that was different than the majority of the others I'd had that night.

I dreamt I was at The Pearl Room in Mokena, IL (a small concert venue) when a woman started questioning people I knew.  I saw and heard her questioning my boyfriend.  She said "Where is my owl?"  Then, someone either told me, or I deduced it on my own, I can't remember which, but she was Athena.  She said her owl flew off with a message for me, but he had not returned, and she was not happy that the owl was not back.  I procured my cards (from where, I don't recall) and looked through them, trying to find Owl, to give back to Athena.  Owl was gone.

And the rest of the cards were strange.  For one, their backs are green with a design of some of the various animals, but in the dream they had turned brown, the pattern of old, treated wood. I turned them over, and thought maybe I had NOT turned them over, because the same pattern was there.  I flipped the cards over a few times, but they were the same, back and front.  Then I looked a little closer.  It was like the vivid images of the animals had left for a bit (possibly looking for Owl, I don't know) and only a pictogram of their form was left.  The ones I remember first noticing were Cobra and Eagle.  Cobra especially had a different name, in a strange language.  It meant "snake" and it started with an "S," but I don't remember what it was.

I have checked my cards, Owl is there, as I knew he would be (I had to check anyway) and all the animals, including Cobra and Eagle are as bright and vivid as when I first opened the package.  The backs of the cards are the same as before as well.  Regardless, it was a strange dream, and I have never once dreamt about any of my tarot or oracle decks.  But I dreamt about these.  Perhaps the cards were revealing their true appearence to me, or maybe Eagle and Snake were out looking for Owl.  Maybe Owl has a message for me, but cannot reach me somehow.  And whatever that entity is that is calling herself "Athena," I'm not sure why her owl would look for me personally.

I thought I'd share the dream, as I thought it may be of interest to some, and see if anyone else had any insight.
